What should I wear? - Gather Lyncburg is pretty informal. Wear whatever you’re comfortable wearing.
How long are Sunday morning services? - Our Sunday morning gatherings usually last around an hour and a half or so. Of course, the length of the service is largely determined by the passionate responses of God's people to the moving and operation of the Holy Spirit.
What can I expect during a Sunday service? - A typical worship service consists of 3-4 praise and worship songs, prayer, announcements, a Scripture-based message, and an opportunity to respond to the message. As a Pentecosal church, we worship passionately and welcome the operation of spiritual gifts during our worship services.
Will I be expected to give in the offering? - Giving in the offering is not required, but you can certainly give if you want to. We believe God blesses His people to be a blessing to the world. Our ministries are funded by the generous support of the people who call Gather Lynchburg their home church. Just so you know, the offering boxes are located on the platform in the main worship center. You should feel free to proceed to the platform and give at any time during the service.
What about Communion? - Gather Lynchburg practices open communion. That means that you don't have to be a member of our church, or any church for that matter, in order to partake in Communion. As long as you belong to Jesus, that's good enough for us. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.
